About Shayak Raychaudhuri

A Brief Preview

A photography professional with varied experience, Shayak Raychaudhuri has been actively pursuing his interests – photography and writing - since starting his career in 2004 in Calcutta, West Bengal. Starting out as an ambitious photographer, he was quick to land up photography assignments covering a variety of subjects. A major break came in 2006 when he was given the responsibility of creating the image bank for a hugely popular online greetings card company. This opportunity gave him confidence, exposure and organizational skills which would help him in the coming years.

Thus started what he considers the best part of his photographic journey - conducting photography workshops throughout the country, at some of the most attractive locations like Ladakh, Jaisalmer, Hampi, Gir National Park, Sikkim, and Munnar. Meeting excited photography enthusiasts, and guiding them to understand the nuances of photography as well as their equipment has been one of the most rewarding experiences of his professional life.

Today, besides writing and photographing for a variety of purposes, Shayak devotes a bulk of his time to photography training and is continuously aiming to design each of his workshops as a unique learning experience for the participants. He continues to be a Nikon School mentor.
