Exciting times are here ! We’ve seen some amazing additions to the Nikon product line-up in 2018-19, including the two game changing Z series mirrorless full-frame cameras. The last few months have been equally exciting with the launch of a new full-frame DSLR, a new mirrorless camera, a new fast telephoto zoom, and a high zoom COOLPIX camera ! Breathless with excitement? Read on to find out about the cool features of these new and exciting Nikons!
The D780 is a much anticipated addition to the stellar Nikon FX format line up, and now it is officially here. An EXPEED 6 image processing engine and 24.5 megapixel FX format sensor ensures exceptionally high quality images. The novelty is in the new hybrid autofocus system. While the conventional 51 point focus is further improved with an AF algorithm similar to the flagship D5, the live view AF is faster than previous DSLRs, with a new 273 point on-sensor AF system. Plus, you now get eye detection AF in live view, much like the Z series cameras!
With a continuous shooting speed of 7-fps and a shutter speed of 1/8000 s, the D780 is close to the D850 in specs. You can shoot at up to 12-fps (with AE/AF) with silent shooting, while an improved 180K-pixel RGB sensor ensures accuracy of the advanced scene recognition systems, with improved results in AF, AE, and AWB. An ISO range of 100 - 51200 (extendable to LO-1 to High 2) means you can handle any low light situations with ease.
Want more? The D780 allows you to shoot long exposures of upto 900 second duration. For focus stacking purpose, you can use the focus shifting option.
The D780 offers 4K UHD videos with full pixel readout. Plus, you can make full HD slow motion videos with frame rates of up to 120 fps. You also get Time-lapse movie recording, N-log video, time codes, Electronic VR and HDR (HLG) movie output.
A tilting, 2359 k-dot TFT touch-sensitive LCD with 170° viewing angle allows a wonderful shooting and reviewing experience.
The D780 has a strong magnesium alloy body weighing just 755 grams, and is dust and water resistant. For uninterrupted shoots, you get about 2260 shots with a fully charged battery.
After the resounding success of the Z6 and Z7, we now have a completely new product range – the DX format mirrorless cameras, starting with the Z 50. Within a tiny but sturdy magnesium alloy body, the Z 50 packs a high resolution 20.9 mp sensor combined with Expeed 6 image processor for producing exceptional image quality even in low light. Advanced AF mode with eye focus and silent photography make it a perfect street photography companion, while the bright, high resolution electronic viewfinder lets you shoot the conventional way.
A built-in flash will prove a great help in times of need while compatibility with external Nikon speedlights makes the Z50 a compact, versatile mirrorless camera. Aimed at V-loggers, a flip-down LCD monitor is perfect for shooting selfies and videos for V-logging. 20 high quality Creative Picture Controls and 10 Special Effects options can be applied to both photos and videos for enhanced creativity. The Z50 shoots 4K UHD videos at upto 30 fps and full HD at up to 120 fps, with options for in camera slow motion, time-lapse, and electronic VR.
In short the new Z50 is a tiny power-horse.
AF-S NIKKOR 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR
Here comes an exciting telephoto zoom with a fast f/2.8 aperture and new NIKKOR lens technology. The 120-300mm zoom range is great for portraits, sports and events, while the wide aperture across the range ensures great performance in low light. You can further extend the reach of the lens with a tele-converter. A newly developed Short-wavelength Refractive (SR) lens element produces high optical performance, while a new, improved VR function provides stability equivalent to 4 stops to enable you to use slower than usual shutter speeds. A combination of an ARNEO Coat and Nano Crystal Coat ensures ultra-low reflectance across the entire visible light range and reduces Ghost and flare effects significantly. The lens is robust and provides ample dust and drip resistance, and produces beautiful bokeh produced by the wide f/2.8 aperture.
With a whopping zoom range of 24mm - 2000mm (35mm equivalent), this new P series COOLPIX is no less exciting an addition than those mentioned above. This 16.5 megapixel COOLPIX camera will enable you to capture everything from big close ups with a 1 cm macro to astronomical subjects like the moon. To keep things steady at such high zoom levels, a dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) is in place. With a host of modes from fully auto to Manual, the P950 will be a wonderful camera to carry on your holidays. Plus, you can capture sharp, 4K UHD movies at up to 30p, slow motion movies and time-lapses! No doubt, the P950 is going to be the camera for many photography enthusiasts around the world.
